The story begins with the Alliance, the Horde, and the Night Elves fighting a huge war for ownership of the planet. However, as the war continued for too long, the Archmage of the humans wanted to save his kind and created a new ability that allowed them to teleport through time in order to kill their enemies before they had anything, but everything quickly went downhill.
